rymadeofmind asked: So, what do you draw when you feel uninspired or feel like your art isn't the best?

Homestuck and dragons :P

color-pink asked: on the alt side of "getting a nice tablet won't make you a better artist" it doesn't hurt either? I mean, there's times where I've gotten or been given a cheap tablet and had it break on me within a few months but I've never shelled out the extra cash for a nice tablet and had it not do exactly what it's supposed to. Like you kinda get what you pay for you know?

Yeah, I totes understand. Generally the nicer it is = relatively more expensive; and that is ok :)

sonicspazz asked: People say things about products because they try not to spread the idea that getting super fancy artist supplies will suddenly make you an amazing artist. Though there is a problem with that mentality given what you use can stilt your progress as well as expand on it. Don't sound disappointed with yourself for needing to upgrade your tablet. What makes you comfortable and what best helps you in making the best art that you can is what's important. I hope you enjoy it!

Oh I know that having a nice tablet doesn’t make you an amazing artist in one go! It took me quite a bit to get used to the format and feel like I’m drawing as naturally as I did with my Monoprice.

I did not feel the need to upgrade my tablet at that point (I was perfectly happy with my old one), but since my ma offered to buy me a nice Cintiq, I could not just let that opportunity pass, hehe! So right now, I’m just very, very excited and feel incredibly blessed. So I do want to become a better artist for it :DDD

What according to you is a nice brand, just out of interest from a fellow artist

I’ve had my trusty Monoprice for a while and it was great (I highly recommend it if you’re starting out—great quality and very affordable).

I’ve been eyeing and daydreaming about Wacom Cintiqs since I was 14. So I am a bit biased for it ^~^’ To me it’s my must-get brand.

would you reccomend Cintiq 13 HD or Cintiq 24HD

I’ve worked with both but with my current needs, a portable Cintiq is just godsend. We have a Cintiq lab at school full off the bigger ones, but it’s in the basement and there are no windows. I rather like drawing in areas where I can see the sun! XD

Plus a 13HD is heckuva lot cheaper than a 24HD ($1000 vs $2500). So again, depends on your needs. Relatively cheaper, and portable? Or more workspace, and stable workstation?
